From Biking to White Water Rafting

"Do not stop thinking of life as an adventure. You have no security unless you can live bravely, excitingly, imaginatively; unless you can choose a challenge instead of competence."

Eleanor Roosevelt

Another ride between rain storms.

Break

The next day:

Due to the rain, the Pacuare River that  we were meant to raft on has changed from Level 4/5 to Level 6/7. Rafting not permitted except maybe for experts. We will raft on the Pejibaye River, which is Level 3/4 today. This is enough, I think. I am afraid- of cold, of falling out of the raft, of knocking my head on rocks. I have no intention, however, to say 'no'.

We have an excellent 'captain'; we learn the basic commands and practice and we are off!  Such fun - the water is warm; it would not have been so bad to tumble into this water. I actually find myself wishing for more of a challenge. A good start for possible future adventures.

(For now, no pictures.) I, however, see the river and the rapids and the trees bordering the river. Wonderful ride.

We transfer to a van and a few hours later are at Puerta Veijo, where I stayed on my holiday earlier this year.  I share with Kate again at Hotel Perla Negra ( very good hotel). It means a little walk into town but we walk in, eat a German woman's restaurant and then go dancing at Hard Rock. I dance reggae once again. What a liberation.

By now the rain has become a daily phenomenon and will continue so to the end of the tour. We will learn of Otto and the changes it will make to trip but for today we do not know. We dance.
