Mountain Biking Adventure

"Nobody who ever gave his best regretted it."
George Halas
"Traveling tends to magnify all human emotions." Peter Hoeg

Not sure which is the best quote for this memorable day with me on a mountain bike navigating gravel roads with stones as large as 4 inches, down steep inclines and up challenging hills, mud and even a smallish creek! Me, who has never mountain biked before except on paved city roads. Yikes! All my courage needed, and my power of NOT imagining falling. and my determination not to slow down the group.

I make it! 18 kilometers. I have learned this trip that 50-60 k is very possible on paved roads even with some hills, but 18 k on gravel and mud, with sharp declines, that is a formidable challenge.  Completing today is a personal victory.

I was too focused to take photos- maybe I will get some later from the group to substantiate today's entry. I include a couple victory photos.

We leave Rosa Del Paseo Hotel in San Jose for our next destination: Tapanti Hotel in Orosi.
